Skidding sideways

No progress last week on my quilts, as work has been hectic. I picked up a neat little book on Art Nuveau borders and motifs - should be a great resource for the crazy quilt embroidery. We still haven't found the digicam, which is why there haven't been any pics in forever.

My Little Mochi has a sweet solution to my pet-yearnings: pygmy hedgehogs!! I'll try making one, and if it works out they might be an excellent softie for next year's Easter sewing frenzy. In other browsings-around, I found this great quote over at J's Quilting Blog:

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO, what a ride!"

In more local news, Slothgirl actually emerged from her tree yesterday and went swimming. That's right, he cajoled, bullied, and finally bribed me into exercising with him. He promised to mop the kitchen floor today, how could I resist that? Of course, not satisfied with my laps around the pool, he's launched the next step of his campaign: lifting weights. ROTFLMAO. Working out? Moi?!

Slothgirl: Working out... As in, going to the gym?
Him: Yeah, it'll be great! I can spot you!
Slothgirl: With all of those other people?
Him: Don't be self-conscious - look at me! *slaps his little belly paunch* We need to work on our bellies - we can do sit-ups!
Slothgirl: I can do them at home.
Him: C'mon. Don't you want some muscles?
Slothgirl: This is against my nature. I don't have any muscles, and I don't feel badly about that.
Him: ...Okay. No weights. You could just...airlift!

Sigh. This is a terrible idea. I can feel the torture of it galloping toward me like a big, slobbery, happy dog. It's going to bowl me over, drag me along in its wake, and the only sad thing is that I may even like it.
